I just started going thru my collection of earlier dated coins and got stumped on this one. I see there are 3 different types of heads and several different types of hair. I could use some help starting with this one! (I have alot to learn)

And the variety number is N-8, the only Petite head in 1839. The Petitie head stayed in use for 1840 - the first part of 1843. (There are 15 varieties in 1843, 11 of them are Petite heads.)
