1944 Steel Penny No Mint Mark - Coin Community Forum

Chuaman New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 10/09/2023 4:11 pm I got this 1944 penny as change from a restaurant in a casino in Washington state a couple weeks ago. It weighs 2.7 grams and is magnetic. There are some issues with the date and the word liberty and trust. L in liberty in border and the b looks weird. Second t in trust does not look right. Second 4 looks off. I have included pics of the coin. Wanting opinions if I should pursue furthur with authentication. Also liberty looks like it is on a angle. Report this Post to the Staff

Liberty looks all wrong and very mushy. missing details on Lincoln's coat under bow tie and again at the hairline and eye. I'll call this one a reproduction coin (fake). Collecting since 1972.
