Thanks for the replies on my last post. 100% saved me from being scammed. I have another I'm looking at doing some trading for. The "R" in Liberty doesn't seem right to me. In my research, I find that the R tails off to a point. This one is just rounded. Any thoughts from some experienced folks? Thank you.

Looks counterfeit to me, Date looks wrong among other things
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

It is much better done than the last one but the date looks suspect. Besides looking wrong, it shouldn't be that sharp at that level of wear being above the level of the rims.

Thank you for you help again. FB market place. I've got the books, scales and calipers. I've heard about a magnetic slide check. Any recommendations?

I would never do any "slide test" or "ping test" on a valuable coin. The first thing you can do is carefully exam any coin you intend to purchase against images of known real ones. The date on this one is comically bad. You don't need any special tests to see that it's fake.

One of the most effective ways of Counterfeit Detection is the basic visual test. Look at 100 1919 SLQs on ebay, both obverse and reverse. After, look back at the present example. You will come to a point like us, when you simply look at a coin, and can immediately tell it is a counterfeit. Knowledge is power!
