Poll Question
I've always wondered what my neighboring American friends collect? Below is a list of the fifteen (15) basic decimals. After casting your vote, in a brief line or two, tell me why you made the choice! Glenn

Of course, the Jefferson nickel the most, as well as the Buffalo. I like the Monticello building, I like most things about the President on it, I like the size. Seems like there's a bazillion of them to make a complete set and you can always upgrade the set you have. Maybe my next signature? There's not much you can get for a nickel these days, except maybe a nice nickel!

I'm going to go with nickel as well. I enjoy the Buffalo nickel the most. Just love the design. I collect several series but right now I am focusing on a complete set of Certified Buffalos! It should be a great set when finished.

Wow, us nickel guys are around tonight. I am with Wheezy in that I am a big fan of Jefferson as well. He was a terrific contradiction of a man. I have had a blue Jefferson Whitman folder for longer than I can remember having any toy. Only in the last year or so have I gotten more serious about finishing (done) and now upgrading the set. I also have started to collect Jefferson $2 notes as well.

I guess I'm the exception to the group. My first choice is Half Dollars, that being said I collect all types. I find that nickels are the type I come across the most followed closely by dime and pennies.

Um I guess 2 Cents... Why? Why not its gotta be one of the most under appreciated series there ever was and yet its so full of history...

I have collections of all denominations except dollars (sold those off to help buy my house). Nickels are my favorite though, followed by the cents and then dimes as my favorites.

I'm partial to halves....Barbers particularly but AU/BU examples are way to darn expensive!! I try to make my sets as close to AU/BU as possible.

well I'm the only one so far who has voted for the Three Cent pieces. I really really love the design on the silver 3 cent piece sadly there are not many dates to collect and a few are out of my price range. the nickel 3 cent piece has kind of a foreign look to it for me so I guess thats why I like that coin. and I like the Shield nickel.

I don't know if I really have a personal affection for any one denomination (I own examples of most of them on the list except for the half cent/gold pieces/colonials) but I sure do collect a lot of half-dollars and dollar coins. Walking Liberty halves and Peace dollars are two of the most beautiful american coins in my opinion. Plus those are denominations that are still existing today but fairly obscure. Thats what appeals to me a lot when I collect coins. I want to collect something not everyone has.

If I could collect only one denomination of U.S. coin, it would be One Dollar coins.

For me it's half dollars...walking liberty in particular. I also collect a little of everything and seem to be developing quite an affinity for Liberty nickels as well.

The half dollar has always been my favorite, especially the Kenndedy and Franklin. I like the Westward Journey nickels which has got me back into also looking for other Jefferson key dates. I have also been accumulating some PCGS & NGC graded State Quarters which may be a mistake this early. I have also started an album for the Presidential dollar coins.
