I'm a bit confused by why this nickel sold for such a high price. Can you see any reasons why? Granted its mint state but I don't think it would grade high enough to command that price.

I thought I had a shot at it and then to price jumped over $250 in the last few minutes. I looked for any kind of error that I might be able to see from the pics but nothing jumped out at me. I just don't get it. But then its not the first time I've seen something sell for way over what I believe its value to be.

I see zero reasons why this would go that high.

Full strike was also my first impression. All it takes is two people who want the same thing.

Very sharp strike on the buffalo head and mantle. This MS 66 is comparable, at a little lower price.

That's a lot of money for a raw 1913 T1, a coin which is readily available in quantity up to MS65.

It is a razor sharp strike to be sure as has been mentioned. I don't think it's a proof, though.

By way of comparison, here's my 1913 T1 in a PCGS MS65 rattler holder. Compare the strike quality of this coin and the one OP linked.

Nice coin. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the strike quality on your coin as being better the subject coin.
