Hello everyone !!

Well another let down from the mint, My proof sets arrived today, and as usual both sets have problems,, a big ding on the torch of the dime of one set and black spots on the sheild of the half of the other
3 years in a row and counting ,,

Im considering returning them and see if the next ones will be better.

Thanks for the report. Why not send them back? Will you let us know the outcome?

I was thinking of just reordering and see what I could get and breaking these ones open for the proof nickels ,, I could just about recover the amount of these sets by doing that ,, the dime I would probly spend some place and let someone get excited by it, the half also,

I will let you know how it turns out.

Rick
Rest in Peace

Hey Speedy Cancel your order... I am to heavily invested in the 2005s for them to go down especially after my disaster with 2000

Ah, yes the 2000 issues! One must not be too disappointed as the great failure of 2000 led to the beauty of 2001! Kind of ironic that something bad had to happen for something good to come out of it! Just wish I had all my 2001 proof sets back now! If only I/We would have known but none the less those 2001 "keepers" still make up for the flood of 2000!!!

Richard
I didn't buy ONE 2000 proof set till last year! and it still went down!!!
I've only found 1 2000 Silver set so far--and the Dime has red hair...I think that was something that happened that year...is that right?
If I were you...go for the Comm's...I don't get them much and if I do it will be the Halves as I like them better...if they do a Comm of Franklin...well...I'll be buying them too!!!

Well Speedy the commemorative issues are only good if NO ONE else buys them! And, sadly to say, the only way you can put yourself in that position is to buy them all and wait for the final tally! Most don't do much but those that nobody wanted, well look at them now!!!

Got my order of proof sets in Yesterday and I have to say I am impressed. Every one is a PR70 Dcam in my eyes. This is why I don't grade coins.....
I Like these sets very much so I don't care if Speedy has jinxed them.

About a Year ago I put a Fake slab auction up on ebay from the L&R grading service (Leah and Richard). I put up a highly wizzed silver War Nickel and Graded it PC5 (Pocket Change 5) I tried to explain to the newbies about the difference in grading services. I had over Five hundred hits on the auction and Sold my 5 Cent coin for $28. I sent the Winner a PCGS graded coin of the same date. Every now and again I think I will repeat the auction but just never seem to get around to it.

I can't See ebay having a problem with it as long as you are honest.
I clearly stated that this was the First slab from L&R grading and had good Pictures. I also stated that my comments on the other grading companies where purely my own opinion. I went on to explain the 70 point grading system used by most people. then pointed out everything that was wrong with the coin I had slabbed.
