That is just a super grade on a key date coin. Do you have a question or just showing this to us?

This coin as it is pictured, is a classic on many levels. KeyDate Nice crisp PCGS/OGH holder. Gold CAC For a purist, this coin should not be cracked out for an upgrade. It Speaks for itself as a key date, and unique as it stands, and worth the price as if upgraded. Estimated auction value is 35K to 55K.

Quote: It will be at the Baltimore show at the end of this month. Thanks for sharing the image. This is a numismatic rarity at that grade, holder and with a gold CAC no less. Do I understand correctly (not it selling here) that it will be for sale in Baltimore? Can you let us know what auction house you are using? Or do you plan to have it on display there? Thank you.

Let me give everyone a little bit of my background, so I then can explain how I see this coin. I have been collecting, buying, selling coins over 30 years. Also into bullion since 1982. I know many dealers and high rollers in the industry. I'll explain my "eye" in observing, grading, and valuing a coin. ...I was in a dealers shop with with two ex PCGS graders, and a soon to be grader who is now one of the best graders in the world. we were discussing coins and the market and passing around coins. The dealer brought out a raw Lexington Commemorative 50C toned. All three graders called it an MS65. I explained that the coin not only was toned, but goes a grade higher with what I refer to as "Dramatic Toning". The rainbow rim toning cut through the stars on the obverse playing into the overall theme and composition of the coin, it was just stunning. I said that coin was an MS66 all day long. The coin was sent in to PCGS and came back MS66. ..... Ok now for this Indian head. For the reasons expressed above this coin stands alone. Cracking this out and having it put into a PCGS True View MS66 would be sacrilegious! That would be like taking a beautiful toned coin and dipping it so it could be restored to "nice and shiny". This coin as pictured is a one off CLASSIC! ...The team thinks this would auction at 35K to 5 5K. Talk of 100K+ is possible.

OK, grading 65 RB. On the PCGS registry there are 91 coins grading 65 RB. Only 8 coins graded higher with the top 7 grading a 66. None higher. A 66 sold at Heritage in 2006 for $115,000 but that must be a one off since most of the 66 grades sold in the 20K-30K range. Granted that this coin in in an old green holder and CAC'd which should add some additional value. I just think that expecting $35K-$55K is overpriced especially in todays economy and thoughts of $100K are just ridiculous in my opinion.
