I'm 7 weeks out on an Express. That is fine, it happens. But what I find absurd is their website still shows a current turnaround of 3 business days.
Seriously?

I too just wanted to come along and complain about NGC's delays tonight. When I submitted, the expected turnaround time was 80 days for my Economy world submission. That's now almost doubled. I'm a patient guy, but I'll just say this: I haven't renewed my membership.

Could be, I'll bet the VaultBox release this week - 1800 coins - may have something to do with it as well.
Side note - my Express is still outstanding at 8 weeks. But I got my economy back a few days ago. Both submitted at the same time. Go figure.
Moniker - I'd seriously email and ask. I'm sure you'll get a rosy picture painted but at least you'll have it documented.

My two medals I sent to PCGS months after my NGC submission have now been graded. NGC: crickets. I am also very disappointed with NGC, but decided to give them on more chance.

Backlog on NGC world in utterly insane. Per their estimates economy world has ~5-6 month around. I am still waiting for stuff I dropped of at Winter FUN. At this rate, I'll be lucky to pick it up at Summer FUN!

PSA is woefully backed up on trading card grading as well...

I am glad I bought my graded coins already graded.

Is there some massive rush to have collectibles graded lately, or is there another reason for the backlogs? For example, did the TPGs do layoffs or something? It seems like they have enough business.

Good questions.

Also, trading card grading submissions--largely driven by Pokémon fanatics--began spiking last December, and remain at very high levels today...according to a card shop owner I spoke with last week. January through March it was nearly impossible to purchase new Pokémon card products through established retail sources...all bought up quickly by crazed speculators.

Then the next question becomes, what is driving a Pokémon card speculation frenzy? You'd think dealers would have been through that enough times with baseball cards, CCG cards, novelty cards, Beanie Babies to know how it ends.
In that regard, the TPGs are in the prime position. They are selling pickaxes and dynamite during a gold rush.
