Found CRH. When you look at this coin in-hand, it just feels wrong. The obverse is normal. The reverse looks like it's too small. The letters all touch the rim, and the rim itself is too thin. Some letters are faded and incomplete, almost like a Greaser. Mass is 5.02g, completely normal. Any ideas?

I'm thinking a Weak Strike and some Die Deterioration.

Is it possible for one side to be fully struck, and the opposite side has a weak strike?

I would describe the outside of the reverse rim as slightly sloped inwards, like a protorim.

The thickness of the coin near the missing Unum looks a bit thinner than the remainder of the circumference. However, as noted, the nickel is not underweight, so I didn't think it could be a tapered planchet. Are you thinking previously encased or smooshed by some other means?

I had assumed that some of the rim edge rounding could have been attributed to 50 years of wear in vending machines and cash registers.

I had a coin with a beveled edge/rim. I found it odd, never posted it here and chalked it up to PMD of some sort.

I don't see how when the hammer die pressure is set and transfers through the planchet to the anvil die.

Hey guys /gals you know professional polishers and body men sometimes use coins to clean out the old/spent rouge out of their buffer wheels (both bench and hand buffers)...don't you ? May have spent a day or two in service and then spent (back to work in circulation)
