Just wondering what happened to this coin.
Serious greasing or planchet flaw, or maybe both.

Something is definitely going on with it, trig. Here's mine for reference:

Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Thanks Hondo.
Here's another one from 2017, similar to a lesser extent.

Hello! First post on this site, happy to be here!

I believe what we're seeing are vastly deteriorated dies; radial flow lines, orange peel texture, and soft dies &/or die devouring die wear.

Here's mine:

I was just going to start a thread about how quality control on cuban 5 centavos is nowhere near that on cuban cigars when lo and behold trig had beat me to it.

Thanks for the welcome, triggersmob!

It's incredible how consistent these are, the crack in that last 2000 is a nice one too. Does anyone have one that looks proper? I wonder how many were struck per year per die.

At least, there doesn't seem to be any struck through cigar debris.
