This is my favourite matching solid number pair. Notice the matching prefix and serial number. The 1953 QEII $1 is the last $1 note with the QEII portrait issued for circulation in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. The Singapore Ship Series $1 is the last $1 note printed for use in Singapore. I matched them up when I managed to obtain the QEII $1 from Brazil in 2006 and the Singapore $1 is in my collection since 1990. Both notes are in perfect uncirculated condition.

ichirensha - The engraved pictures on the 1, 5 and 10 dollars depict the life during the 1920s and earlier. Water Buffalo working in the farm, attap ( wooden houses on stilt )houses and the life in the kampong ( Malay village ). You actually get to see these attap houses in the countryside of Malaysia. You can't see them in Singapore anymore. During that time, Malayan tiger were roaming freely in Singapore. The last one I think was shot in 1928 in Singapore. There was an old photograph with the dead tiger and the hunters. There are still wild tigers in the Malaysia protected forest area. The coming Chinese lunar new year is the year of the tiger. The $5 should be a good representation of the Year of Tiger.

Thanks for the link wd1040 to the Mexican notes. The 100 pesos is really impressive. I've always been a sucker for steam trains!

The Canadian $50 note looks great. I've always liked the 1988 Australian $10 - Not only is it good looking it was important as the first polymer note. Its a shame that since then the Aussie notes have become a little on the bright side.

wd1040: what is this error on the $100 you speak of? I'll get pics up later. I have to borrow a camera.
