Another Mint item went on sale today (Declaration Of Independence Semi-q Quarters) 2 roll set (P , D) and 100 coin bags (P or D) So I'm wondering to all those who bought them, What are your plans for them? Who plans on cracking the rolls and bags open and searching for high grades, errors and/or varieties? Or will you just stack them away and hope for high % of return in the future? Please share your plans.
I got shut out of the rolls but picked up a bag of each P n D, which I plan to open and search...or should I? Let's hear from all you buyers

There are plenty of roll buyers here. I do not get it, but to each their own. I do appreciate dealers that buy bags and rolls of coins that are not sold individually. This allows me to pick up the singles I need at coin shows.

I don't normally buy bags or rolls, but I have been buying the Semi-Q rolls this year. I *thought* about buying a bag of the Semi-Q half dollars to list on ebay but realized I don't have the time for that. And like @jbuck, I appreciate the people that do sell them individually so I can singles to fill in album holes.

I was buying both rolls and bags more than a decade ago. There's only one roll of Sacagawea dollars that I opened. I've sold some other rolls, roll sets, and bags intact, and still hold more, and have some offered on ebay. Other than that roll of dollars, I just couldn't bear to break them up, even some that I intended to at the time of purchase. I've still got 20 2-roll sets of 2005 Bison Nickels in their original, unopened, shipping carton, plus a few individual sets in sealed white boxes....among other things. There were a few 100-coin bags I opened because the packaging had been water damaged. The coins were mostly okay, the packaging did its job. I guess 20 years ago I had more cash flow than common sense. I wish that were still the case today, heh! For my collection, I'd more likely buy an individual coin, even though I have that coin in a Mint Roll or bag.

Quote: I feel the same way about my car stereo days. OMG, and there was that too! But when the car the equipment was installed in was totaled by Hurricane Michael, I removed most of it before getting rid of the car. Sadly, it all sits on a shelf today, LOL. It's worth more than the 2nd hand car I bought to replace the totaled one.

It was good you got it all out, if only to avoid getting the short end from the insurance people. I still have all the pieces that I took out of a car before selling it. I did not even use any of it in the next car; it got an all new system. Not sure why I never sold any of those older pieces. The "all new system" got parted out when I sold that car. Now I have had the same car with factory audio, bought new in 2009. I call that progress. But I digress. This is about bags and rolls.

Dearborn is this a hobby or an addiction for you, so you have no intention to check for maybe a MS68/69 or maybe a double struck flip-over diddly bob?
