I apologize for making so many posts for my last question regarding the Lincoln Chronicles Set, my computer was not responding when I clicked the post new topic button so I continuously clicked until it responded. I also have another concern; as of today my profile shows that I only have 25 posts! how can this be when just yesterday I had over 60? I think I am going to bid this forum farewell regardless, the people here have been rude and it seems the only members who get any sort of welcoming in this community are those with a high number of posts or those who give items away in contests. For anyone who feels the same way I do there are many other coin forums that offer a sense of acceptance (unlike this one). I would highly recommend Coin Talk.

Hey. You just gotta hang in there. I don't think anyone really ment to be rude to you. There are some good pepole here and you can learn a lot here. But no one make you stay if you don't want to. Just forget it and ask or show new post. Now about the 25 post but you had 60 I know nothing about. Hate to see ya go just for a small deal as this.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. I think it is an isolated one - this is a very friendly forum I have found.
I think the post count may be explained by the fact that at 50 posts, you can buy/sell/trade and PM (Private Message) others. Perhaps it was thought that you were trying to quickly get to that number? A misunderstanding it sounds like based on your explanation of technical glitches.
I hope you will give it another chance.
Best regards, Ken

Coin_Guy - Let me give you my honest comparison between this forum and Cointalk from my perspective.
1) User Friendly - this is a much more welcoming forum. It shows both at the speed one's post is answered and in the way it is addressed, in most cases in an informative, friendly way. The website layout and ease of use is far greater here.
2) Traffic - this one has much more traffic. A much broader audience, not all sharing the same collecting appetite.
3) Coin quality - this goes to Coin Talk - seem to have much more depth in coins presented along with quality, seems to be much more dealer/high end collector focused.
4) Posting rules - Cointalk's rules are CRAZY. You get scolded for most posts you do, seems like working for the government or something. Terrible.
Overall, this forum is the friendliest I have seen. Since you are looking at Modern Coinage, I doubt you will get more there. I would send a note to staff (there is a button) and ask them to correct the problem. I am sure it will be resolved.

I still am a relative new comer to this site. (just over a month) So far, I have been treated well. I don't understand why the concern about post count though...It's only a number.

Coin_Guy, I just saw your post about leaving, While I do not know about your concerns 1st hand I will say this is a very easy to understand, user friendly, Highly educational, Great forum for the expertise and conversation it contains.
I for one had "thinner skin" when I joined and since, have learned many things, some things written come out or could be taken the wrong way as opposed to speaking to another person, I really do not think anyone meant to be rude or dis-respectful, I do not know ALL the specifics but would like to see you re-think your leaving, good luck, Mike

I agree with the above members that this is a friendly and knowledgeable place to be. This is a family friendly site. I've been here about 7 months. There are rules here to ensure everybody's enjoyment...don't take them personally. I saw your 12X multiple posting and assumed it was a computer malfunction. (for future reference there is a delete post icon that can be used if nobody has responded) I also noticed you started a new thread in a different forum on the same subject and a Moderator locked it. Again, don't take this personally! Having only one thread open about a subject keeps all the responses and information given in one place, making it easier for all members to access the provided information. Most of us have made mistakes here at some point in time. The rules apply to all of us to ensure a spam free enjoyable family friendly environment. As to why you lost some of your posts count...I do not know! But like mentioned previously...It's only a number!

No need to leave this site over a trivial number! The count probably went down because the mods deleted your numerous identical posts (see the rules on double posting). You'll find that this is the best coin forum on the internet...

ok let me come in here and say something, you posted the same thing 12 times and when I moved all those posts to the deleted section (except for 1 well actually 2 because I locked another one) I changed your post count and removed 11 posts (because just because you were posting the same thing over and over again the forum doesn't know and counts that as a legitimate post) It looks like someone else saw what happened and also bumped your post count down for it also (thats my fault for not letting the staff know that I had already done this). The reason we monitor this stuff is because we have members that just try to get their post count up so they can buy/sell/trade on the forum and this is a security measure to protect our members. I would gladly bump up your posts to what I moved it down to (or atleast talk it over with the staff to see what they all say should be done) but since you are so unhappy with the forum that you are going to leave (and trying to get other members to go to another forum you are happier with) I see no reason to do so unless you are willing to stay and become a legitimate member with quality posts. I am sorry you are unhappy with the forum and sorry you had any bad experiences here but we are not the biggest coin forum on the net but we definitely strive to be the most family friendly one. and we have allot of experts and educated people on here that take time out of their day to answer peoples questions with the knowledge they have to help others. On the net as was said its sometimes hard to know how something was said because you can not hear the tone of voice like you can when you are face to face and things get taken the wrong way as was intended

Coinguy - if you respond to the above post and thread that will increase your count by 2 ! Very easy to get to 50 quality posts, no worries.

Coin_guy your post count was inadvertently knocked down twice buy the Staff because of all the duplicate posts. I apologize for the error and I've fixed it. We had no way of knowing it was an accident because history has proven time and time (literally hundreds) again that new members do this to get to 50 posts just so they can post in the BST sections. Quote: I think I am going to bid this forum farewell regardless, the people here have been rude and it seems the only members who get any sort of welcoming in this community are those with a high number of posts or those who give items away in contests Please show me this rudeness, I just went through all your posts and don't see it. We can take criticism fine, but if your referring to a few posts mentioning the fact that you posted the same exact topic 14 times they were far from rude, they were just factual. All you have to do is go here and see how new members are welcomed. Please explain your comments so we know who has been rude to you and I can fix it.
