the more I look at my Barber Half the more I want to upgrade that thing, I may do it once I finish the album up but I always said once a coin was there it was there for good but its awful beat up and I don't really like the looks of it. Quote:Great looking Half Dollars, everyone! where is yours at that is in your 7070 album? I just wonder when he is going to post everyone to post their cents (large and small and Half Cents)

Quote: Man, I love this stuff! GREAT looking coins everyone! (Bryan1315, yours and Johnny54321's stuff are AMAZING! I can only sit back and dream!) your set has come a LONG ways already from when it was initially posted...which really wasn't all that long ago..lol. The way your moving in on the gold, your set will be better than mine in no time. I forsee your dream becoming reality very soon. Also, your the only one of us who actually has the basic 7070 set complete... I don't think I've ever asked you though, have you set a grade standard for your set? Or is there a look you are going for? What are your goals?

This is a very interesting question. And one I have been wrestling with since I started coin collecting. My very first goal for a coin album was to fill every hole, affordably. But first, to fill every hole. My sole rationale for an acceptable coin was mostly clear coin visuals and a clear date and mint mark. I have, since I joined this forum, become more selective. (Thank you my brothers and sisters...) Obviously a number of my 7070 selections (since they were pulled from my present collection and not specifically for a 7070) are not the quality I would like. I would like an XF coin or better in each hole of EVERY coin in my collection. I don't presently have that, obviously . I MOSTLY want a XF or better in my every hole of my 7070 and am working towards that goal. Once again, I have been able to fill every hole but not with the quality I want. I find it is much more fun to complete an album (but not with trash, something reasonably good) and then upgrade rather than to let an empty hole fester in my album for an interminable time. Long answer to a short question: Yes, I would like XF or better for my 7070 coins. Moral of the story: I want to be Johnny Countdown or Bryan 1315 (or even KenKat!) Your collections are amazing! I am continuously impressed with every coin you all post. NICE WORK!

Quote:Johnny54321! I find it hard to believe they have ever sold a coin for their asking price, I am sure everyone they have sold has been someone making an offer Edit: I just checked a few of their feedback and none of them say "Auction Ended With Buy It Now" so all of them has in fact been an offer made and they accepted that I saw

Ahh, I see. That's why you've been attacking those pesky gold page holes like a man on a mission... All of your gold look better than XF to me!

Bryan, the obverse on the 1877s is incredible! Quite a fantastic collection, I bet you smile everytime you look at those coins.
