I've usually a large number of 50p, simply because something I buy on a regular basis costs £2.50. (OK it's beer, my other hobby).
I always make a point of paying with a note just so I get at least one 50p in change, but this does show some interesting anomalies. From December to mid january it was 90% Olympics, but in the last week I've received 3x 2007 (Scouts), 1 x 1998 (EU), 1 x 2006 (VC) & 1 x 2003 (Suffragettes)
Also Brunel & DNA £2s.

I haven't got a single Olympics 50 in change yet - I guess they haven't made their way out to the provincial extremities :(

maybe some UK users will be so kind and trade some 50p's with me?
Kena, I got your email and reply to it tomorrow on my PC. I've got all the information there. I am now on my mobile, can write short messages to forum from it :)

My kids have been finding a few Olympic 50 pence coins.

So far, I have been able to acquire the following:

Aquatics
Archery
Athletics (Kid Designed)
Boxing
Canoeing
Cycling
Fencing
Goalball
Gymnastics
Hockey
Rowing
Triathlon

Don't have any spares yet.

I have about a million triathlon and fencing coins, and also boxing, athletics, swimming and a couple of volleyball and bocchia coins!

Kena you have 3/4 of those out, much better than me. Up north seems to only get a few, and they seem to have dried up now!

Am I crazy or just because of the chance of finding new coins (much fun than buying them off ebay) I am thinking of a long weekend trip to the UK. :)

I don't think any Royal Shield 50 pence for 2009/2010 were released for circulation. The 2009 Kid Designed 50 pence was also not released for circulation.

I have not seen the 2009 Kew Gardens or 2010 Girl Guides 50 pence coins in circulation.

The table tennis coin is back to front. The guy who designed it left hand is now on the right etc. He told the mint director at little ceremony thing and he was a little flustered.

Guys, back from the UK. All I found was :
a couple of unc/aunc 2009 2 Pounds (technology design)
a bunch of 2009-2010 unc 20p's,
a aunc 2007 Britannia 50p
a 2004 4-mile comemmoritive 50p.

Shame upon Royal Mint (or just my luck?)
Oh by the way, someone gave me a Malta 2001 50c coin, as a 50p coin. Weird! :)
