I haven't bought anything off ebay in over a year, but this past week I've bought two things to cross off my wantlist. One of them is a "city view" billon kreuzer from Nuremberg, dated 1773. Seller's pics:

Nuremberg-

and my scans (which are good on details but don't show the lustre):

Nuremberg- Nuremberg-

For me, these coins are almost as good as their big brothers, the "city view thalers"... but at only a tenth of the price. Of course, at only 15mm diameter, they need magnifying pretty powerfully in order to see the view. The scans were done at 600 dpi.

Small can also be beautiful Congrats!

I like this coin a lot. I have tried to get a city view coin myself, but with no luck as of yet.

As for ebay, I too have been a very infrequent guest as of late. Guess all the fakes have spooked me. A pity.
