scotty11 Pillar of the Community United States 1042 Posts	Posted 03/20/2011 10:19 pm Yeah...that's rust in the "WE" (although it's not nearly as bad in hand as in the photo)...and that's a rust spot just below the neck/chin. I'm having trouble getting a good photo of this one. I don't see any wear or rubs that I'd normally see with a steel cent. The left wheat stalks are just as full as the right in hand. I noticed on a lot of these it affects the E PLUR area, too. Were it just struck-through grease, I'd expect these to differ ever so slightly, but they don't. Because it's the area oppositve the shoulder where there's a lot of metal flow. It's the reason they later lowered the shoulder relief on the design. Lincoln Cent Lover!
