Collecting On The Cheap: $20 Worth Of Silver Dimes

bwbollom Valued Member United States 293 Posts	Posted 04/10/2011 10:56 pm Went to a small-ish local coin show yesterday and didn't have much money to spend. I did find a dealer who had some of their silver dimes marked in the $2-3 range. The last time I went to my local shop, they were selling junk silver dimes for $3.90 + tax each, so I figured I couldn't go too wrong here. I ended up trading a crisp $20 bill for these 8 silver dimes: 8 junk silver dimes would have cost me $32 + tax at the shop. The dealer's marked prices would have ended up at $23, but she rounded it off to an even $20. I was pretty happy even though I didn't have much to spend...just thought I'd share :) Edited by bwbollom 04/11/2011 10:58 am Report this Post to the Staff

You'd think as a dealer, she might have heard that prices have gone up substantially in recent months. I wish I could find quarters at $4! Report this Post to the Staff

I was kind of thinking I might head to the coin shop when I get paid and look through their 2x2'd pre-priced dimes & quarters to see if they care about updating prices or just want to make sales.
