I have the option of buying a 1979 Circus Circus Casino Token that is silver. The only problem is that I don't know how much silver it is or what the value would be. Does anybody know about this type of token?
Thanks.

Check out ebay for Circus Circus token and there are quite a few. If it is bimetallic, only the center would be the .999 silver. I have seen lots of casino tokens this way. Not sure of the exact weight though. I did see one on ebay recently that said it was silver, but wasn't, so be careful.

Yeah, that is what I was worried about. It is from a private seller and I haven't seen it in person yet. I'll do a search on ebay after work and compare pictures. The person is trying to sell a couple of things as a small 'lot.' Mostly junk but there are some Peace dollars that I want in there and they won't split it.

http://silverstrikers.com/ has a rundown of silver content by denomination. You might even find an image for Circus Circus on the site.

Interesting link yarm, I have several of these as well and often wondered what the exact contents of each was the link you provided answered a few of those questions I had about real spot value. As always thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience with us new to numismatisism.
