In an actual coin roll, the oldest I've found is a 1908 V nickel. In loose change, two 1891 Indian Head cents. I asked for more, but the cashier had no other IHC's in the till; I wonder if someone's collection was spent that day.

Oldest I have found is a 1908 Indian. Probably AG-3 details.

Two weeks ago I found a 1893 Indian Head cent in a banks $50.00 bag off their coin counter. Looked like a metal detector find.

I used to roll hunt pennies and since the first Canadian small cent was minted in 1920, it's not possible to find ones older then that. My oldest find is a corroded 1912 LWC.

My oldest: Cent: 1927 Nickel: 1920 Dime: 1965 Quarter: 1965
*I don't really search 25 and 10 cent boxes, just started with cents and the occasional rolls of nickels.

On my various trips to the USA between 1991 and 2014 my oldest change find has been a 1942D Wheat cent.

If I am not mistaken, the 1850 Seated Liberty dime I just posted in the dime thread is the oldest coin found in a roll based on this thread. :-) Still in shock to see something that old come out of a machine wrapped roll.

That is an amazing find on the 1850!
I think the oldest coin I have ever heard of from a roll is a Roman copper in a penny roll that one of our members found a few years ago.
