Trying to find any information on metal content of this medal. It looks like silver...

I can only find gold or gold-plated versions.

I have one but it is gold plated. The gold plated ones were 1 1/2 inch in diameter and the gold ones were 1 inch in diameter (if I remember correctly). While that doesn't help you I was wondering if you could measure it. Then we could go from there. Maybe some body replated one with silver, or maybe they took the gold off the plated one.
I have had a hard time find any information on these Bicentennial metals. Seems that a lot of them are silver but people aren't sure. An I haven't found them in a catalog that I have access to yet.

I found a reference to a 76mm version of that medal, it was sterling silver. Can you get a weight on your medal?

The link below is a Heritage listing of all the sizes/metals of the 1976 National Bicentennial medals.

The 1 1/2" silver version is a cameo proof with brilliant reflective fields. I believe it's .900 silver (although I've seen them advertised as .925 silver). My digital scale is acting up so I haven't got a good reading on the weight of my examples.

The 3" version weighs in at approximately 8.5 troy ounces (265 gms) of .900 silver but in a high relief matte finish. Unfortunately these were sold without the plastic capsules, so even stored in the case they can show signs of tarnishing.
