Hehe. Keep in mind this is in NJ/USA from a Wells Fargo bank. All of the rolls I got that day were machine rolled on both ends. I've only gone through quarters yet and got some new states I hadnt seen before, curious what these other rolls have now. :D  Even just getting started in CRH is fun and entertaining lol with all the wierd stuff I had no clue about banks in my area lol. |

Careful Schwanke, CRH can be very addicting. My last scores were a 1974S Proof Quarter and a dime in a penny roll.

Btw, is there any particular reason I should leave this roll sealed? Its not 'fed' rolled, its just the local armored service, so its not anything special I dont think. I am more curious about whats inside of it and adding the 76 canadian to my collection then I am about keeping it whole. Oh and yeah the coin on the other end is a generic Lincoln Cent, forget what year. So its not even like there's a chance its a roll of all canadians lol. :D But figured I would ask in case there is something I dont know about the 'value' of something like this. Thanks! |

And to confer, yes, I am officially addicted. I just pulled a silver 1964 dime out of a machine rolled roll. Same bank/company that has the 1976 canadian penny on one end hehe.
There was also two quarters that were almost stuck together with a dirty black gummy gum substance.
So I am guessing they are not using any type of sorting system, they are just counting and rerolling by a very basic system to not pickup foreigns or silvers. I know theres several 60s and 70s pennies just on the ends of the 20$s in rolls I got from there so they arent pulling copper either. (Which I wouldnt think they would but just mentioning they could have a Numi 'at the shop' that could have a privaledge to pull or something if he replaces.

This is one addicting hobby. I am pretty sure the bank people think I am crazy cause I asked for three boxes within one week....

I got a box of small dollar coins last month, and one coin was a UK 2 Pence. Think they were rolled by a regional distributor, not my bank.

Nothing else really strange about that or any of the other rolls from that bank that day. I think I found a proof nickle though 2001. Definitely has a VERY much higher shine then the rest. A lot like my proof ike. If I can pull off a photo that shows the shine I'll post it.
Assuming thats what a proof means when found in circulation. I thought proof just meant uncirculated until people started mentioning finding them in rolls.

proofs can be found in rolls if someone breaks a proof set. Generally that's call an "impaired proof". A proof coin has a slightly different minting process than a business strike uncirculated coin. I found an impaired proof 1976-S Washington quarter in pocket change once. Edited by Fuzzy317
