I think it's time for me to get a custom avatar. The only problem is that I can't find one single coin in my collection that I think it would work. I know most people are going to say "pick your favorite coin", but the problem is that I love all my coins (or I wouldn't have spent money on them ). I know I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but can someone help?

An avatar, to my understanding, is how you wish to be identified.
So when the time came for me to consider it I had the same problem: a single coin
was not going to do it for me.
Also, being color blind, I wanted something that I could find easily in a page full of replies.
And I always liked the Chaucer quote (Canterbury Tales) and it just fit into the philosophy of the CCF.
So I decided on this:

Good luck!

Do you have any hobbies or interests aside from coin collecting? An image related to that might let you stand out from the crowd a bit.

Mine is my very first RPM I received from CONECA when I signed up.

Best one I own to date.

Someone else on the forums has a very similar one to it. (Coop)

Mine is an off center strike I found in pocket change. The date isn't even visible, so it's by no means valuable, but it reminds me of myself... A little off.

Mine is a coin given to me when I was visiting Germany and Austria in 2013. I've had it on my desk in plain sight ever since to remind me of the trip. I'm sure I'll change it up at some point but that is one heck of a memory for me at the moment.

So perhaps my advice is... "nothing is permanent". Change your avatar as appropriate with the changes in your life.

You don't have to, of course. Apparently I'm a small-c-conservative person; I've kept the same avatar, unchanged ever since I joined the forum in 2006...

Distinctiveness, rather than "your favourite coin", is a worthy goal. So unless you're like jbuck and are world-famous for liking a particular coin type, that would be a good way to go. Distinctiveness is easier for collectors of ancients, or errors, since such coins always tend to look unique. If your collecting sphere does not include such things, you will have to find distinctiveness by other means.

It doesn't have to be an actual coin picture, either - if you've got artistic skills, maybe you could take a regular coin picture and give it a makeover, or even draw something completely original.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

At the end of the day... only you can choose your avatar. Do so with confidence and don't be afraid to change it up IF you change your mind.
