Any opinions would be appreciated.

I'm finishing up my book #5 which is a set of all coins (I collect) issued between 1935 and 1964.

My interest in Lincoln cents ends in 1933, and I don't collect them afterwards.

However, I would like a nice representative type coin of the Memorial reverse in my collection from 1959-1964.

I'd like to stay NGC or PCGS in the $100-$300 range. What would YOU consider to be an outstanding memorial reverse cent to use as the one example of the type in that date range and price range?

I've considered the 1959-D in MS 67 Red that can be had for around $120. I'd like to stay mint rather than proof, as I do not include any proof in this book (they are in a totally separate book).

I've also considered a 1960 small/large date, but the prices are so crazy on those I'm uncertain what is a good value.

In any event, if any of you would like to chime in with a suggestion on a great single example of the type in that date and price range I would certainly appreciate your time in doing so.

Look for the 1959 Lincoln Wheat cent. Or possibly the 43 Copper Cent.

I would go with a 1959 as it is first year. On ebay there are several MS67 1959-D that fall within your price range.

Thanks for your opinions. I was wondering if anyone would suggest something better than a 1959-D, but it sounds like that is the choice in my price range for a single outstanding example of the memorial type.

I had thought about waiting for a 72 double (or doubled, depending on your religion), but that would be the only coin I would own past 1964, and I will avoid that temptation.

Again - thanks for your suggestions. I'll watch to see if there are any others.
