The CC on the reverse stands for Chinese Counterfeit. No Carson City dollars were minted in 1888 I am sorry to say.

That was sarcasm with the CC comment. It is however a counterfeit most likely produced in China

CC means carson city HOWEVER there was no 1888CC ever made so its a counterfeit

amber, always ask here before you buy/purchase coins if you're not sure and, the members will set you straight, this one is so fake ...look at the reverse and you can see lots of 'stuff'.. enjoy your stay with us.

amber - Surely you have a Red Book or the like. Why didn't you check it first for the authenticity of this piece if you weren't sure?
