1992 D/D Lincoln Cent ?

1992-D/D--Lincoln-Cent-?
Is this a D/D ? The area of the mint mark is indented, sort of like a hole on a golf green. Any ideas ?

I would think that a D/D would indicate a RPM. That wouldn't happen on a 1992. I suspect yours is just damage.

Zinc rot. it is due to a plating split that is common around the mint mark. Eventually the mint mark will fall off and there will be a big hole there,

Both are correct. It's zinc rot, and RPMs are not possible after 1989.

Happens a lot on the mint mark on Zincolns.
