I have a 1983 P Dime; this is what I know about it:

Weight=2.24g
Diameter=16.8mm
Non reeded completely smooth edge
Very defined ridges to both sides of the coin
No sign of any clad to reverse side seen on edge of coin

I am including a few pics of the dime. Just wondering how common this might be and hopefully a grade and value to this coin. I have done some looking online but have not seen anything that fully matches it. I hope the images are good enough for someone to give me an idea of mainly the value to this coin.

Since this coin is 1 mm smaller than the mint specification, it has been mechanically altered to make the rim more pronounced, and to smooth the edges.

I am pretty sure it is not a mint error, but look for other comments here.

I would agree with others and say that the coin was altered after it had left the Mint. I don't believe it has any collector value.

Google 'spooned coin'. Definitely not a mint error. Some collectors hold on to them for fun and reference.
