Phil310 Pillar of the Community United States 1101 Posts	Posted 12/25/2021 4:34 pm It is always good to consider that a coin may be a different die state than those normally seen, but in this case the DP9 #5 reverse (E31d) is the 5th of 7 reverses paired with Obverse die 31a and the obverse 31a always has a heavy die die crack to the R of REGINA when paired with this reverse die (Obverse die state 5). See the page link below in the Haxby catalog which shows the obverse die states seen with each of the 7 reverse dies (under catalog information 1b). https://www.vickycents.com/obv-o31a.html Section 1b is very useful in attributing where there are multiple die states and multiple pairings.
