That obverse feature is a Ridge Ring, a sign of extreme Die Deterioration. Quite common in the 1980s, they ran the equipment hard.

Your coin is a Wide AM, completely normal for 1986.

Die Deterioration is strong with this one. Suggest keeping it as a fun example.
