Condition-wise I'd say the "upgrade" is a grade or two higher (XF vs. low AU). If this is the only picture the seller provided I'd ask for some full slab pics of the coin. It's darkly toned in the TrueView and could be even darker in hand.

First one is XF-40, second looks to be 50 or 53. Lovely!

The picture of the new one looks nice - how's it compare to in hand? Definitely is an upgrade! |

The up grade is graded AU 50. In hand it doesn't look as good as the photo but still much better than the old.

The 1884-S is a condition toughie, for sure. You did well. IMHO, it's on the higher end of AU-50. |

i think your upgrade could go as high as AU55
