I think it's because silver is in that sweet spot between being affordable enough for "common" people to own significant amounts and being valuable enough to actually be worth owning.

...everything I own was bought between $11 and $25ish dollars and ounce. So yeah it's hard for anyone not to feel that in the pit of their stomachs watching it go to $120 and back to $60.
Even worse if it went back to $11.

Yeah, I concur with what Batman just said.

Imagine that I suppose then potato chips will go back to 25 cents a bag (actually I can remember 15 cents) and milk will be 50 cents a quart, and gas back to under $1 a gallon again too?

I would certainly starting buying a lot more silver to prepare for the next "to the moon" moment.

Looks like it is trying to fall into the ~$56 zone. What will the night crew do?

Here comes that bounce in Oil I mentioned yesterday

I had a feeling to buy some USO yesterday, regrettably I did not, it's already up $8 a share in premarket and I'm sure it will keep climbing.

Higher Oil is already baked into the markets, the war is already baked in. What the Market is worried about now is the effect on future growth, GDP, inflation, interest rates, etc.

We might see a pop in metals this afternoon though if-

The damage to growth may be the reason the Feds / Warsh decides not to raise interest rates today, and instead waits until September to see if the damage that's being done does the work of cooling down inflation for them.

Eyeballs are on the Fed right now.

Well, I just took a very small gamble, in the form of a long dated Options play in SLV.

The bet is (I can't believe I'm saying this) that the Fed feels that the damage to the economy will be so great the Fed won't need to raise the rates to combat inflation, and so they will leave rates unchanged or lower it.

If I am right I wil 10X my wager. The options contracts don't expire until August 26th so if I'm wrong I can wait and see if anything else happens by then to move Silver up. Like I said it's a small gamble so the risk / reward is worth it.

All eyes on the Fed

Good luck!

I think I'll need it considering what the 4 major indexes are looking like right now.

Preach. I need to predict when the bottom is coming. I have some cash to reallocate.

I might be in a buying mood after spot falls through the $40 mark.

Sounds like someone still won't be buying any Silver for a very long time.

That's okay, Harry. I haven't bought anything other than numismatic silver since 2020. And if my target is never reached, suits me.
During lockdown, I actually caught a short lived dip below $13, and picked up a roll of Quarters.
