Went out to dinner to a little pizza and sub joint tonite. My change was 59 cents which included 4 wheaties from the 50's. Was a pleasant surprise.

After searching hundreds of dime rolls and finding no 2009 D dimes, end up getting one in change at the Dollar store.

Silver 1952 Quarter!! I knew something was in my change by "that sound"! I didn't even know it had a mint mark until I snapped a quick pic:

when I first started dabbling in coin collecting I was in grades 6-8. by eighth grade I was keen on the mint marks as I was trying to assemble a LWC folder.. you know, the old blue whitman folders. back then (early 80s) finding an S-minted cent or nickel was kind of a big deal. finding one in circulation these days is kind of rare and it brings a bit of nostalgia with it. i just returned to my place from the pet store with a load of kitty vittles & treats. I examined my change and found that they had given me this 1970-S jeffie: not terribly old, not really valuable beyond face, but man does that ever bring back the memories...
