Walt0011 New Member United States 41 Posts	Posted Yesterday 7:32 pm I've had this in my collection for a while and I never thought about potential errors until today. I checked it against variety vista and PCGS' images. Everything I see says it's a 1916 but it is missing the date, naturally. What are your thoughts? I think I need to get this one graded. Pull up variety vista and look at the 1916 nickel check PCGS' images of the graded 1916s. Please also check any other sources I may not be aware of. Report this Post to the Staff

The 1916 DDO-001 has strong, distinct doubling on a number of design elements, including the tips and rachis on the first two feathers and tip of the third, the lower ribbons, the date, and portions of the portrait. Your coin does not have doubling on the tips or rachis of the first two feathers, the tip of the third feather, or the lower ribbons. The date isn't visible. Doubling on the full length of the portrait is common throughout the series, and is just Machine Doubling. Even more basically, because of the weakness of LIBERTY, I'm not convinced it is even ODV-002, which would be required for a 1916. Report this Post to the Staff
