There is one very clear marker on my coin which shows two separated leaves on the reverse wreath:
1882-P:-Can-This-Be-VAM-34?

Also, I can see the die polishing lines within the ear. The date, however, still has me wondering. I cannot see much doubling except underneath the "1", but it is very faint and appears to align with the end of the bottom serif instead of beginning slightly to the left, as it is shown in the detail images on VAMWorld. Tere is also some doubling inside of the two "8"s, but nothing on the "2":
1882-P:-Can-This-Be-VAM-34?

Here are the full obverse and reverse of the coin:
1882-P:-Can-This-Be-VAM-34?

As always, any help is greatly appreciated!

Once again, I really can't use the full coin shots for attribution, they are not clear enough. The over polished leaves are probably on more VAMs than not, so not the greatest marker. Where I cannot check out the minor markers, I am not sure but take a look at VAM-41.

Thanks, @-makecents-! It is looking more and more like VAM-41 to me.

And I need to take better pictures, I agree. Looks like I need better light sources, so I just ordered a couple of little table spot lamps that can be clamped onto the edge of the table. Will try to get better images when they arrive.

Getting nice, clear full coin shots can be tougher than figuring out the VAM sometimes, trust me, I understand. It does make it much easier to help attribute the coin though, as the markers can be very minute sometimes....

Still trying to narrow this down ... in the meanwhile, I registered for the discussion forum on VAMWorld, but am waiting for my account to be activated.

I selected the "Neck/Wing Gap" view for this 1882-P coin, but couldn't find anything corresponding to what I have. But I found what must be a die gouge using a 10x loupe between the body and the left wing. Here is the detail for that -- maybe some one can tell which reverse die this might belong to?

Maybe there are other clues to see in this image?

I can't find any reference to the die gouge which I showed in the previous posting. Maybe it isn't relevant to VAM listings?

However, I think I have maxed out the capabilities of my Nikon D60 here. First, I'll show complete obverse and reverse images which fill up a 2400+ pixel screen area of the camera (actual full-size screen dimensions are 3900x2713):
1882-P:-Can-This-Be-VAM-34?
1882-P:-Can-This-Be-VAM-34?

Next, I found what looks like die clashing on the obverse under the "U" in "PLURIBUS". This might be showing the 2nd "T" of "STATES" or else part of some arrows from the reverse:
1882-P:-Can-This-Be-VAM-34?

There are other marks above the eagle's beak, but I haven't investigated these yet (there are great superimposed images on the VAMWorld site at https://vamworld.com/wiki/Attributi...Die_Clashing which help to figure out what and where some clash marks may be found).

So I found a used Nikon D5200 body from a local dealer for a reasonable price which I can still use with my existing micro lens (Nikon AF-S VR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED). Once I have this, I should be able to get about 1.5x the screen resolution of these photos due to its bigger sensor. But as it turns out, the D60 isn't such a bad camera if you have a good lens and know how to use it! (thanks to @-makecents- for encouraging me to take better pictures!)

I am creating another thread on the coin photography subforum which shows my setup. Will follow up with the link since I am posting the link to this thread in that forum, so I need to create this post first.
