1 Dollar 1887 MS 65 (Sides Reverse)

eruik New Member Norway 1 Posts	Posted 05/12/2010 07:58 am Hi everyone I have bought an 1887 Morgan silver dollar. It has no mint mark that I can find but it does have an error that I haven't seen listed. The sides are reverse (one upside down) when you turn the coin over. Does this error affect the value? Is this a fake? I bought it from ebay for 25$. Is this a scam? Thanks for answers Report this Post to the Staff

If you are saying what I think you are - then all US coins are that way, check your pocket change. Pics are absolutely necessary though. Oh - and welcome to the boards. And the sides being upsidedown from each other is 'coin alignment' - medal is when both sides have the same orientation. Again this is normal for morgans. Report this Post to the Staff

What you are seeing is completely fine - if you'd like to post pictures, experts here will help you to assess if your coin is authentic.
