I know that this coin is undesirable because of the scratches, but is there an exception? Say for instance I found a 1972P 1DO-004 in this condition. Would this coin be undesireable too? I would hate to pull out my little collection and make a fool of myself because of the condition the coins where in. Report this Post to the Staff

A small clip should show the rim/denticles sloping into clip area, like in the picture coop presented. The obverse is too worn to tell anything, but the reverse shows a normal rim (for what remains) which wouldn't happen with an incomplete planchet. (Also, this probably belongs in classic variety/error coins, rather than modern). Report this Post to the Staff
