Its neither. It is Aequitas, but because the legend is so worn its hard to pinpoint which coin it is. I have it narrowed down to two possible coins: RIC 960 and 969. I'm more inclined towards RIC 969, but perhaps you can see more with the coin in hand. Let me know what your think.

Hi and thanks for your reply....yes I think you're right RIC 969 seems to me the correct one,as you can see this sesterce isn't so well preserved however I haven't an high level collection and for me is enought good what do you think?

Thats a nice coin I like the images on both sides. I dont think that it matters what value or grade the coins are. If I like a coin thats all that matters. I like ancient coins that show signs of wear and are still well preserved like your coin here. I like your choice of coins

Any Roman coin is fine by me. I love the larger coins, both Sestertius and Dupondius coins. Yours is a nice coin. Never apologize here for the grade of your coin. You should see some of mine. I have a mix of some very nice coins and the not so nice coins. But I like them all.

I am very pleased of this forum,I hope that my english is uderstandable I try to do my best.
p.s. to be honest for me it's hard to find dupondios in good preservation, have they been minted in smallers numbers?

I have said this before on this forum. Never apologize for your English. At least you can speak/write/understand it. Most of us, me included, can only speak/write/understand English and no other language. Your English is more than just good enough!. Its great.

As for the Dupondius, I don't think they were produced in lesser numbers, but I've never really looked into it. I believe the Dupondius and the AS are have been used interchangeably on the likes of ebay, but the Dupondius represented 1/2 of a Sestertius and two times that of an As. I'll have to look into if they were produced in lesser numbers though.

Hey, I for one am glad to have you on this forum and since I didn't say it earlier:

Regards,

thank you t360.
@jwharper:it's easier for me speak than write in english because writing I can make many mystakes, however I'd like to add as Italian that aequitas that's in current italian equità is deriving from abjective equo that is like say equity the same of justice,in fact on the reverse the figure holds a balance on right hand, can you see it on my pic?

Yes, and that's what led me in the direction I went yesterday. I know several lawyers who collect Roman coins. They make a concerted effort to collect Aequitas coins.

As to your English, please don't worry about it. You are doing fine. I speak some German and I'm sure I sound like a child when I speak. And I would never dream to try to write it, especially in the correct grammar. You are making yourself more than understood, so just don't let it bother you.
