Phil310...yes! That's the one. It's a N/N type (not a micro N or double spur N or any similar silly name that I was guilty of calling as well), and it's only slightly more common than the 1881 Single Serif N...it's a really difficult one!...I've only found 3 in the last 6 years, though that's compared to my single serif N count of 0. If the Single serif N is a Sheldon R7 (4-12 known), then this would be an R6 (13-30 known), and the RTC an R4 (75-200 known), Heavy punch doubling R3 (>200 known) Strach-Man...I started this thread in 2011...and I dont recall claiming that I "discovered" this variety or any other for that matter...you seem to have an anger issue that, I'm sorry to say, is mis-directed at the wrong person...

Thanks CV.
I thought from your description that you were talking about this one.
I agree with you that it's a very tough one to find.

Thanks CV. I believe the only way I got it was because the coin was cleaned. I was still happy to pay 20 bucks for it.
Thank you too Okiecoiner, I was not sure the 4 tripled letters was from the hub or not. I do have a few different re-punched letters and N's so I understand where you are coming from. It is people like you that make this an enjoyable and educational experience.I will look forward for more to come.

I find that very hard to believe...but it certainly is near scrap now.. I do hope that you have "before and after photos of the previous 81 DDO". .

Dorado ... You are not preserving or "saving" any of the coins that you have posted. They have been essentially ruined and you have added 20 years of wear onto each of them. The dark spots and greens can be fairly easily removed and the coins preserved by using much much less invasive methods. Every time I see one of your coins, it sends a chill down my spine.

Dorado you want your coins to have the deep brown look to them. By removing the brown color off your coins you have destroyed the value of those coins and the coin. If you want to preserve coins don't clean them. Okiecoiner I agree with what you have said.

I don't handle coins for money ...I do it for pleasure

Dorado....It is obvious from your various postings that you ARE a collector and also ruining many of your coins so that they can no longer be appreciated by future collectors. Such a shame. Hopefully you will be more careful with the treatment of your coins from here on in!
