Definitely NOT 1916 or 1917 type 1. Dates were most likely to get worn off before 1925. So my guess would be 1917-1924...BUT plenty of recessed date coins get worn off too. Maybe someone else knows how to narrow down the date on 1917-1930 coins.

You can tell type 1 (1916 and some 1917) quarters from the rest because there will be no stars below the eagle, as well as some more subtle characters that I won't go into right now.

By the way, I need to start shopping where you do!

It's definitely a recessed date 1925-1930.

I would go with 1929 as well.

If you got it free in change you did good either way.
