I am going to give someone a coin hunting surprise tomorrow....

I received a large package of unsorted Geo V and Geo VI coins today. I got quite a few nickels in awful shape (like a 43 tombac with a hole in it and a few really badly worn George V nickels) plus some wierd home-plated cents. Tomorrow they get spent!

I wonder how long they will last in circulation.....?

I have been doing that with George pennies, I have literally hundreds of them mostly early 40s, I make up rolls and every other one is a george, I hand them out in regular change as well, I like to think it might start a new collector..

I have done that on occasion with old paper notes as well as coins when I have acquired them as part of a lot with others that I have kept. I live in the U.S. so I bring them with me on my annual trip to Canada to visit family. It is interesting to see the looks you get when you pay for someting with a one or two dollar bill.
