So here are a couple pictures of an Israeli 1 Shekel Coin that I believe to be from 1976 if google images served me properly. What kind of info can you offer on this coin? I'm looking for metal composition, rarity, value... if at all possible. Let me know if you need better images:

It is indeed a 1976 coin, but in 1976, Israel didn't use "shekels", it used "lirah" (also spelled "lira"). This is a 1 lirah coin.

Composition: cupronickel (the same alloy as an American 5 cents).

If mintage is a reliable guide to rarity, then this coin is middle-of-the-road for the series, with a mintage of 4.2 million - scarcer than the two dates on either side, but more common than some of the earlier dates.

In theory, it's slightly more valuable than other dates, as seen on the NGC price list page for this coin. But in practice, since most Western collectors have difficulty reading Jewish Calendar dates, it's not likely to fetch much of a premium.

Thank you Sap for the verification and correction on the coin name... Girlfriend and I couldnt figure out if it was a Shekel, Lira, or Agorot.

Wow Plum, those mint sets looks awesome... What does one of those star of David Lira go for?

They're not too expensive - the Israeli mint went a bit overboard in the 1970s and struck far more mint sets than local and overseas demand really warranted. Here's the page for the mint-set-marked lirah.
