So today I go to the bank to deposit a check for my son, I ask for a box of pennies to search tonight and I am told they don't have enough to give me a full box.As I am standing there waiting for a few blocks, another teller asks why I want them, I tell her I am a coin collector and roll search as a hobby. Sheasksif Iwould likeablock of quarters that a customer exhanged earlier in the day, the customer mentioned to her that they were old ones. you bet I do. 23 1968 50% silverand a 65.

Congratz on the quarters. Always nice to have someone hand you silver for face value.

I have on occasion had a bank tell me that they did not have enough rolls to get me a box of coins. I know that they have to keep so many of each denomination for their business accounts that may need change for daily transactions. It is no big deal for me...I just move on to the next bank. I have 15 banks within a 15 min drive of me so I never worry about not being able to scratch my coin roll hunting itch. :)
