F12 or F15, it doesn't look like the band is complete.

Since the general concensus is in the Fine range, I can tell you that it was purchased for 20% back of Fine money. I thought it had a chance at VF on its originality and fairly full headress being its a key date. They graded this VF35 if you can believe that. Missed it by a bunch in my opinion. VF25 would have been a gift. Noel

It's funny because I was going to say PCGS graded this VF30, I would grade it more like VF20, although it's hard to see "LIberty" in the pictures. It's still a really nice coin and I do believe it is VF.
Rest in Peace

Could it be some of the detail is lost in the photos? I would have thought 15-20. I have been buying a lot of early indians lately, and usually steer towards raw(other than the big keys) simply because they seem overgraded and overpriced in slabs.

I'd say VF-35 is way out of line. I can see a VF-20 maybe,

The only trace of a diamond is the upper most one, the lower band is not full, B and E are not complete and are is showing wear on the lower edge. The reverse is typical of an F15. This coin belonged to a middle aged womans grandfather. I suspect the patina has been undisturbed for 60 to 75 years. Nice chocolate brown color and feather detail boosted the eye apeal way past reality in the grading process. I would have been happy with a VF20 knowing I called it right but now I don't even know that.
