I found a 1998 silver penny..Its very unusual looking..Its the size of a dime..its weighs 2.2 grams..It has no rim on it like a normal penny does...I work with money and noticed it right off due to its strangeness..Does anyone have any info on this coin or how rare it is? My Main question could it be worth something..

Yeah we would need pictures. Unless someone messed with the coin, first thing that comes to mind is that is was a cent struck on a dime planchet. And yes this would have some value, but we'd need pictures to confirm it.

without pics, it might possibly be a cent on a dime planchet, but of course, we need pics.

Without pictures, my first suspicion is that it has been rubbed with mercury.

Yes..you can see some slight copper color on the edge..although..the edge is very thin...its not even as thick as a normal penny..it appears to be thinner than a dime..

I don't know if I could 100% exclude the possibility of it being a cent that has lost its copper jacket by being soaked in acid or something, but if I had to bet, I'd say it's a genuine wrong-planchet error. If authentic, it would be worth a few hundred dollars.
