Hi all
I recently loooked at and catalogued a set of coins for a co-worker. There were only around 100 coins and nothing realy special the best was an 1878 Morgan that may have made AU. I put the coins in flips and sealed them added a small printed note in the other side of the flip describing the coin.
I gave the set back last week thinking nothing more of it. Today I find on my desk a thankyou card and $60 in cash.[:0] The total value coins I looked at might have been $40 and I had fun going over then.
How do I give the money back without hurting her feelings?

I would explain the same thing, that you had fun going through them and enjoyed helping her get info at the same time. may tell her you'll buy a nice lunch instead.
make her feel like she did you a favor by letting you go through them and letting you have all the fun...

By now you should know what she has in her collection, and what type of coins she likes. Use the money to buy her a coin she hasn't already collected, and give it to her for her collection. She would probably appreciate the thought, if not the gift. AND she couldn't say NO!

Get her a 2005 Proof SAE with the money! Everytime she will look at it she will think of you. After all, she would eventually spend the $60, but as the saying goes, "One who collects coins never runs short of money."

Also, for the money, is there anything more beautiful than a proof SAE?

"FOR THE MONEY"...I stated.

Sure I would love a $50 Golden Proof AE (who wouldn't?), but he has only $60 to spend.

Thanks for the help.
My wife tells me I should give her the money back and tell her that her mother should have told her not to give money to strange men...... I do not think she collects coins. The collection belonged to her Grand Father.

I like the Idea of a Proof SAE but then I would I collect coins.
