Yes that's what I was thinking as well mmerlinn. It will take up a lot of extra time for sales/purchases plus all the privacy issues. It just seems laws are passed that are supposed to stop crime but the innocent have to have their privacy invaded. The criminals will find a way. Just like what seems to happen every time a criminal tries to fly using a new hiding method. All travelers suffer. The bad guys will just keep doing new thing or so it seems

The solution is to punish the criminals. However, the bleeding hearts won't allow it, so instead the innocent are punished. Not only that, but the PTB lose power if they don't control the innocent.

I know its really getting out of control that all the controls are in disguise of somehow keeping us safe. The medical control will be something else when that's in full force. It will be just that too I fear

I only buy my silver coins online :)

But yes, this is the first I've heard of this law. Now only time will tell if it gets enforced.

But from what I read it doesn't matter where you buy from if you live in LA and buy sell or even Trade secondhand or used goods more than ONE time per month (person or business) you must comply with reporting and no cash! It probably will be hard to enforce or very tedious to say the least

The law was passed in July to be effective August 15th. So far, the law has not been codified in the Revised Statutes of Louisiana. Until that happens, it will be hard to enforce even though the Engrossed Bill was signed by Governor Bobby in July.

You know even if really difficult or unreasonable to enforce just the thought that that kind of thing was voted in by all but ONE in LA and signed by a Republican governor is kind of frightening

Sounds like a state cash grab. They are probably hoping to make money from the fines. How are they supposed to track stolen items out of the thousands of reported two party deals? This country is moving closer and closer to socialism.

I know I'm one more big liberal law away from moving out of Washington State.

Well, then don't even think of heading south, Mitch. Oregon is worse and California is MUCH worse in that department.

Ha, come to California! One big freakshow out here.
People and businesses are leaving this State in droves because of all the insanity coming out of Sacramento.
In the next 5-10 years, I'm outa here.

If gubmint were smart, they'd have a database on the Internet. Purchases must be added, private info not available without password, police can list stolen stuff to look out for, etc.

Absolutely worse in OR, and beyond worse in CA.

The only plus I can think of for Oregon is no sales tax. At least Oregonians don't need to track dozens of sales tax rates in over 3,000 Washington taxing jurisdictions like Washingtonian businesses need to do.

Well, by then, my friend, any property you now own with be about as close to worthless as it will ever get. I would advise anyone in Calif to bail out NOW, sell whatever they can, and move somewhere where the inmates aren't running the asylum. Yeah, I know... tall order and all that. :-/

Really? It's effective on August 15th? I can think of another famous August 15th.
