APMEX is selling silver Maple Leaf coins for spot + $2.79 each. That is a pretty good price. Just ordered some.

I went ahead and picked up some of these myself. On a side note, does anyone know why APMEX charges more for credit card purchases? I always find it annoying that I have to use a money order or personal check.

Fuzzy is 100 % correct. Companies that accept a credit card for a transaction pay a fee to the issuing card company for each transaction.

What I wish is that companies like APMEX would thoroughly vet their customers who want to use personal checks to buy PMs and then not hold the checks for 8-10 days before shipping the order. Yes, I know about people who use rubber checks but they typically have poor credit ratings. Credit verification is not a difficult process these days. They could even have a member rating system for Silver, Gold, and Platinum Club customers that depend on how much they buy. Special discounts could be offered at various times on various products or free shipping might be offered as a special. Lots could be done to enhance the customer buying experience while expanding sales volume.

I wasn't very happy with the shipping on my last order. 12.95 for one slabbed AE, seems it could have been done for half that...

It cost me $19.95 to have them ship ten 1oz Maple Leafs. Kind of seems like a lot. I wish they would do e-checks that deduct from you account instantly or PayPal. I hate waiting for my checks to clear.
Considering the shipping cost, and the mark up, buying small amounts of silver from them doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Almost 100% of the time a small local shop is the best on small purchases such as the both of you completed.
Even with the shipping of the Maples they were the lowest if not one of the lowest during their special, so it is still a win.
I generally do not make small orders so shipping from them is basically nothing.

If your just looking for Silver that have a very good deal on 1 oz Sunshine Minting Silver Rounds .999 Fine. At this current time that makes the cash price $31.97.
Just .99 cents over spot.

Yes I agree that the small shops are a better deal. No shipping costs or waiting plus no delivery co. Involved. My local shop charges 3percent over spot for most silver. I believe $3 over spot for Eagles so when you figure everything it is a better deal locally

That is a good deal on the Sunshine Rounds. They must have just went on sale. I'm mainly interested in the silver content, but I like have some variety too. Unfortunately, there's no local coin shop where I live. The best deals I've been able to find are the 90% stuff on ebay. I've been able to get some pre-1965 quarters and dimes at the melt value/price shipping included.
