Is this the reason there are 10 bids on the item as they suspect it might be brass but the seller does not state this in auction.Item no 120793055721.

Not brass. The known 1859 brass coins have a 'soft' strike. That is a well-cleaned coin. From my experience, and I do have access to a XRF machine at work, almost every coin that 'looks brassy' is not a brass coin.

Believe me she knows what she is doing ! High asking prices and somewhat suspect descriptions are the norm here .Caveat emptor!
