I would like to know the reason why any type of coins turn to be Rainbow Color,i did found coins like this in metal detecting,and I still ask my self that question?

I saw your coins in the metal detecting section.They probably were toned by the steroids leaching into the soil of the football field,or the chemicals used to keep the field nice and green.

DBM I just came back from metal detecting and found two more quarters at about 4 inches deep,when I got them out from the ground they where normal as change quarters I got home run water over it to take the dirt of and you what they are now rainbow quarters and we are talking of about two hours the same with a dime that came from the same place.

The reason they're rainbow colored is the same reason that things like bubbles and oil-slicks are rainbow colored - thin film interference (in this case, cause by thin layers of oxidation on the coin).

For MD coins, any toning would be highly dependent on local soil conditions and chemical compositions. Most MD coins turn out to be dark(black, brown, or grey), crusty, and corroded.
