How would you grade this one? I'll reveal the NGC grade tomorrow.

I'll say 64FH, although I feel like there is a slight weakness to the hairline. Rivets look great, as does the eagle, and I absolutely love the obverse toning! Almost like a golden mist...

Thanks for the grades.

NGC graded this MS64FH.

I think that the head details barely qualify for a FH designation, but I love the overall look of this coin. I've been looking for a nice Type 1 SLQ for my certified type set for quite a while and I think I can stop looking now.

I will probably try to cross this over to a PCGS slab and I will share the results when I do.

yes, you have a weak FH but they don't grade that way, so you got the FH designation. I have seen quite a few that I do not agree with the FH designation, esp on the Type 3 coins. I nstarted to follow JH Cline's advice awhile ago - "If you do not agree with the grade on the holder, do not buy the coin". This should be done with any slabbed coin you buy (unless you think the coin should be graded higher).

As far as I am concerned, the only coin more beautiful than the '17 Type 1 is the '16.
